February 5, 2006 <br />Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness <br />For 847 Forest Avenue, South Bend, IN 46616 <br />Moving the back fence line - <br />I would like to have permission to move the chain-link fence along the back <br />property line at 847 Forest Avenue. The current four foot high fence is placed in <br />such a way that there is no vehicular access to the one car garage behind the house. <br />I would like to take the current fence down and replace it in a new position allowing <br />for access to the garage from the alley between Forest Avenue and Leland Avenue. <br />Nota Bene: Originally there was a spur alley that ran from Forest through to Leland <br />between 847 and the house immediately to the south. This alley is intact and in use <br />on the Leland side to this day. However, the Forest side was closed and vacated at <br />some point in the last 20 or so years. Originally, vehicular access to the one car <br />garage behind 847 was possible via this spur alley and the garage faces south to <br />facilitate this. <br />
