PUBLIC HEARING: <br />A. CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS <br />STAFF REPORT <br />RIVERVIEW GATE HOUSE <br />LIGHTING <br />Bartow Builders has submitted its proposal for the lighting around the Gate House and for the ceiling of the porch. <br />Bartow Builders has submitted the following per the Commissions instructions in April, 2010 that the porch ceiling <br />light to be a fixed fixture on the period rather than recessed and that the post lights height and style details and porch <br />lights come back for further commission discussion under existing COA #2010 -0401 A. <br />Bartow Builders is proposing 8 foot posts and 30x14" Acorn style lamps for the five locations in the west, north and <br />south sides of the house. Two lamps posts will flank the walk way; two will be placed on either side of the landscaping <br />on the south side and one will be placed on the north in front of the landscaping of the building. A sixth lamp post will <br />be positioned in the rear of the building next to the air conditioning units this will have the same Acorn lamp but will <br />be fixed on a ten foot post. (See product information) <br />The proposal for the porch lighting if the installation of 6 flush mounted lanterns. They have selected the 9x 8.5" <br />Westlake Cast 1 Light Outdoor Ceiling Mount in Black with clear glass. (See Product information) <br />Applicant was amenable to modifying COA adjusting it for the preference of the <br />Commission to globe style lighting style instead of acorn. <br />On a motion by Todd Zeiger as amended to direct staff to work with the applicant to take <br />a final look at a milk glass white style globe on the submitted post fixture with a <br />modification that was agreed to by applicant for a similar matching globe 8 -10" flush <br />mounted to the porch ceiling with finish to match post fixture with a second by Sandy <br />Rossow <br />Vote: 5 -0 <br />COA 2010 -0401A was approved with a unanimous vote <br />STAFF REPORT <br />CONCERNING APPLICATION FOR A <br />CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS <br />Application Number: 2010 -0819A <br />Property Location: 1204 East Wayne Street North <br />Architectural Style/Date /Architect or Builder: Modem/1954 <br />Property Owner: Debra and Jon Gaul <br />Landmark or District Designation: East Wayne Street <br />Rating: Non- Contributing <br />DESCRIPTION OF STRUCTURE/ SITE: This 1954 Modem home is situated on a wedge shaped lot across from the <br />triangular esplanade. It is a 1 %z storey frame home with a 1 storey gable wing and an irregular floor plan. The central <br />section of the house has a gable roof with large shed dormers. There are casement windows as well as a large picture <br />window with brick header course sills and ornamental louvered shutters. The fagade is brick with vertical and <br />
