The roof is a steep gable with side gable and bays Nvith rake boards with moulded cortices covered with asphalt shingles. There is a half wide-porch with concrete .floor and metal supports and railings. The windows are 1/1 double hung with moulded entablatures. There is a wood panel front door with moulded entablature and leaded mullions in the side lights. ALTERATIONS: The front porch, railings, supports and steps are replacements. The wood two car garage has been demolished. APPLICATION ITEMS: Install a hot tub with roof cover ensemble I Ix i I x9 at the rear of the house. DISCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT:, The homeowner proposes to situate free standing hot tub surrounded by wood roofed enclosure with sliding doors, a bar and stools. This will be located at the rear of the house per site plan submitted. STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES: Chapin Park Local Historic District Guidebook C. SHEDS AND AcCESsORY BUILDINGS Required Sheds and accessory structures (gazebos, decks, doghouses, playhouses, fountains and small reflecting pools, outdoor sculpture, children's play equipment, etc.) shall be located at the rear of the property and as unobtrusively as possible while preserving historical relationships between the buildings, landscape features and open spaces. Proportions and materials shall conform to those required for new construction. Recommended Accessory building designs should be compatible in character and mood to the residence and the neighborhood. Prohibited Prefabricated metal sheds shall not be used. Not Recommended Prefabricated wood composition sheds should not be used unless they conform to all other guidelines and standards. STAFF .RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval as it conforms to the guidelines being located in the rear of the property and is not a permanent structure.
