Contributing <br />DESCRIPTION OF STRUCTURE/ SITE: This two storey Dutch Colonial Revival ' <br />home has a rectangular plan set upon a brick and concrete foundation. The exterior walls <br />are clapboard and the flared gable roof with full shed dormer is covered with asphalt <br />shingles. There is an off center brick chimney with corbelled top. There is a balcony <br />over the front porch with balustrade. The front porch is open with square posts with <br />balustrade. The windows are double hung 8 over 1. There are 2 single leaf multi -pane <br />French style doors leading to balcony. The house is on a very small and irregularly <br />shaped lot on the corner of Bronson and Edgewater (See Exhibit A). <br />ALTERATIONS: Two skylights in the eastern exposure of the roof, front porch rebuilt <br />with new decking and rails to match style of house in 2006; there are some aluminum <br />storm windows and an aluminum storm door Picket fence added in 1996 with <br />commission approval. Changes in landscaping: removal of stone wall near side basement <br />door and approved dead tree removals. <br />APPLICATION ITEMS: Replace chain link fence with white vinyl privacy fence. <br />DISCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT: The homeowners wish to replace a non <br />contributing chain link fence at the rear of their property with a vinyl privacy fence (See <br />Exhibit B and photographs) -4). This will compliment the white picket fence surrounding <br />the side and front yards. <br />STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES: <br />B. BUILDING SITE. LANDSCAPING. AND ACCESSORIES <br />Individual properties in the district are characterized by a house located in the center of a flat <br />lawn, often divided by a walk leading to the .front entrance. Many properties have a straight <br />driveway along one edge of the lot leading to a garage at the rear of the house. This driveway <br />often has a sidewalk along one side leading to the front entrance either in the center or at the side <br />of the house. Driveway and sidewalk materials include asphalt or concrete. All of the properties <br />have trees; many have trimmed shrubbery and hedges. All of the houses conform to a uniform <br />setback line within each block. <br />
