HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />OF <br />SOUTH BEND & ST. JOSEPH COUNTY' <br />'SPECIAL MEETING ON SITE <br />JUNE 23,2009-__ <br />3:00 <br />MONROE SCHOOL-CARROLL STREET <br />Commissioners Present: Lynn Patrick, Timothy Klusczinski, Todd Zeiger, David <br />Sassano, <br />Staff Present: Catherine D. Hostetler, Director, Wayne Doolittle, Preservation <br />Specialist <br />Presenters: John Arndt, Ken Hebard <br />Owner Representative: John Strauss, SBCSC <br />The meeting was called to order at approximately 3:05 by President Klusczinski. <br />The Commissioners were asked to consider the color options presented by <br />Hebard and Hebard based on the paint analysis, co6f ,,,h;,1, Virk-_LC %:-11LCt!1CL4— <br />The analysis indicated that the oldest color was a dark <br />blue gray, but also under consideration were a dark bronze and a flat black <br />finish. Included in the discussion was the shade of limestone coating to be used <br />on the window surrounds and other cast concrete architectural features -of the <br />school. <br />After a detailed discussion by all interested parties concerning color and window <br />profile, upon a motion by Todd Zeiger.with a second by Lynn Patrick the <br />Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the charcoal gray finish and <br />replacement windows by Grahm Architectural Products subject to comparative <br />profile .drawings .of the proposed window rep lacement to the original window <br />by Hebard & Hebard via e-mail before Thursday, 25 June 2009. <br />The Commissioners then evaluated the color palate mix of the reproduction slate <br />with John Arndt and Ken Hebard. It was decided that Hebard & Hebard would <br />provide a mock up for Commission approval based on the percentages of greens, <br />beige and brown, purple and red slates against a light . to medium gray field <br />slates tentatively agreed upon by the HPC and Hebard and Hebard in a studied <br />random pattern. <br />The meeting adjourned at approx <br />ipately 3:55. <br />
