There is a gable roof with <br />cross gable covered with asphalt shingles, The second floor overhangs at the cross gable over a large bay <br />window with casement windows and upper light fixed transoms. The first storey facade has stone facing; <br />tile. second storey has wood siding covered with aluminum. There is a large brick chimney on the side at <br />the cross gable near the concrete entry. All of the windows are the original metal casement windows. <br />AI.,TERATIONS: There is a rear one storey gable 1951 addition attached to a Year 1 % storey gable <br />remodeled garage. The aluminum siding has been applied to the original wood siding and the wood <br />shutters have been replaced with aluminum. The aluminum storm door is a replacement. <br />APPLICATION I'T'EMS: Replacement of all windows throughout entire home. Windows are made of <br />a wood .Frame with a metal sash and trim. This product will be an exact replica of the pre-existing <br />windows. The Quaker window is our preference with the Pella being 2 " choice. Both windows come <br />with the metal lattice as shown by the Pella sample. <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT: Replace deteriorated metal casement windows with <br />Quaker or Pella exterior aluminum clad wood windows that will exactly replicate the muntin patterns of <br />the original casements. The muntins will be exterior, dimensional. A full size sample of the type of <br />replacement window is in the Office and will be at the meeting. <br />STANDARDS AND GUIDF..I..INES: Fast Wayne Street: <br />C. WINDOWS ANDDOORS <br />Window and door frames are of -wood or steel (some casements) or in the case of brick strtrctures,'stone sills and <br />brick lintels Where metal or vinyl siding has been applied, window trim has been covered. Storm windows are of <br />wood or aluminum. <br />Required <br />Original windows acid doors shall be retained including sashes, lintels, sills, shutters, decorative glass, pediments, <br />hoods and hardware. When deteriorated beyond repair, they shall be replaced with units and trim resembling the <br />original. <br />.Recommended <br />'Wood frame storm windows and doors painted to match the original should be used but should not damage existing <br />frames. If new sashes or doors are instilled, the existing or original materials, design, and hardware should be used. <br />When metal storm doors are used, they should be painted. anodized or coated to match the existing. When awnings <br />are used they should be of canvas material. <br />
