Schmiedeler and Renee Marie LaReau Landmark or District Designation: East Wayne Street Rating: Significant DESCRIPTION OF STRUCTURE/ SITE: This two storey brick Renaissance Revival home has the original tile roof and features brick quoins, Corinthian columns between the front arched windows, leaded glass windows flank the decorative doorway molding. See Photo 91 ALTERATIONS: The side porch was enclosed and the garage added around 1951. There are aluminum storm windows and storm door on front of house and five replacement fixed single pane windows. APPLICATION ITEMS: Replacement of 12 double hung wood windows, 5 vinyl picture windows and 1 hinged wood window with Marvin Insert wood windows (replace 18 of 30 windows in house). Replacement of bare aluminum front storm door with Larson full -view almond color aluminum storm door to match trim. Further details in attached document. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT: Repair 4 double hung windows but replacement of 12 double hung with Marvin Ultimate Insert Double Hung wood windows with aluminum clad exteriors and with simulated divided lights that are permanently adhered to both sides of the glass (pages 7,8,12,13,15, 17&18) . These will duplicate the 6/6 of the original windows and will include full exterior screens with aluminum surrounds. Replace five replacement vinyl fixed single pane "picture" windows (pp. 9 11 & 20) the windows on page 11 will be replaced with double hung windows and the kitchen window on page 20 will be replaced by a Marvin Insert Awning wood window all of the other will be replaced with a Marvin Insert picture wood window. Replace one hinged wooden window (p.10) with a Marvin Ultimate Insert Double Hung to duplicate current muttin pattern. Replace the non -original storm door with a full view storm door. STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES: C. WINDOWS AND DOORS Window and door frames are of wood or steel (some casements) or in the case of brick structures, stone sills and brick lintels. Where metal or vinyl siding has been applied, window trim has been covered. Storm windows are of wood or aluminum.
