Quorum <br />was duly established. <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />Application Number: 2008-0827 <br />Property Location: 304 Twyckenham <br />Architectural Style/Date/Architect or Builder: Colonial Revival/1929/ H.R. Wayne Street LHD <br />Rating: Contributing <br />DESCRIPTION OF STRUCTURE/ SITE: This is a two storey frame Colonial Revival home with a <br />rectangular plan, flared gable asphalt shingle roof with three gable inset dormers at the front. The porch <br />roof extended from the main roof supported by square box columns with mold trim as capital. There is a <br />central entry with sidelights. There is a two car garage wing with two doors with molded trim cornice, <br />wood balustrade on the flat roof. All of the windows and doors appear to be original. <br />ALTERATIONS: Enclosed arched area at rear garage was noted on survey card. <br />APPLICATION ITEMS: Removal of 4 non -conforming pine trees (3 Blue Spruce/1 Fir) [See Exhibit <br />A&B] which obscure the view of the house from the street (Exhibit C) and impede the growth of <br />lawn/grass (large portion of yard). Addition of (1 or 2) new deciduous trees within tree lawn along <br />Twyckenham Drive (Exhibit D) <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT: The homeowners wish to remove the four trees directly <br />in front of their home and replace them with a maple tree in the tree lawn. The maple trees recommended <br />for tree lawns for the East Wayne Street District are the Norway Maple and Sugar Maple. The spruce <br />trees were less than 6 feet tall in March 1987 when the survey photograph of the home was taken for the <br />original survey card. Brent Thompson, City Forester, submitted an e-mail after visiting the site (Exhibit <br />E) stating that the spruce trees are healthy but could be trimmed up or replaced. <br />STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES: Reading was waived by President Klusczinski. <br />
