Committee assignments were
distributed with the caveat that there may be changes as new Commissioners are
appointed by the Mayor and the County Commissioners. With regards to the standing
committee only by a vote of the entire Commission can a task be given to a committee
for study. There was a lengthy discussion on the 2008 Goals and especially on
Commissioner CLG requirements to attend seminars. During the course of that
discussion Todd Zeiger said that Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana could put on
workshops for the Commission, a half an hour or an hour before the meetings or at lunch,
if the Commissioners would submit their ideas to Catherine Hostetler.
C of A Approvals: Fourth Quarter Staff Approvals distributed via Commissioner
packets.
Director's Report: Hard copy distributed to Commissioners.
Assistant Director's Report: Hard copy distributed to Commissioners.
Legal: Assistant City Attorney, Aladean DeRose introduced Larry Metiever as the
Commission's permanent City Attorney. Todd
Zeiger also said that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the Surveys could be used
to finance the Preservation Plan. He estimated about $15,000.00 would be needed for
someone to review and do the Preservation Plan with the possibility of a matching grant
from DHPA to net $30,000.00 to do the job really well. Todd also said that since the
Commission is a Certified Local Government means that the State has already certified
its Ordinance "is in line".
