Commission, as well as, the many citizens whom she has served and <br />assisted, view her with affection and respect; <br />Now Therefore: This Historic Preservation Commission declares <br />that the services volunteered by Joann Sporleder are a significant and <br />material benefit to the citizens of South Bend and Saint Joseph <br />County, and it is proper that her good work be publicly recognized and <br />remembered. <br />Timothy Klusczinski, President <br />Mary Jane Chase, Treasurer <br />Linda Riley <br />David Sassano, Architect Historian <br />Is there a second? <br />Linda Riley: Second <br />Gerald Ujdak, Secretary <br />Todd Zeiger <br />Lynn Patrick, Vice President <br />January z8, zoo8 <br />In a motion by Timothy Klusczinski with a second by Linda Riley, the motion passes <br />unanimously. <br />The chair then recognizes Mikki Dobski-Shidler representing the Mayor of South Bend. <br />Mikki Dobski Shidler: I am representing Mayor Luecke and it is an honor to be here. <br />In light of what you just learned about Joann I have a Key to the City that the Mayor <br />would like to present. The Mayor could not be here tonight because he had to be on the <br />fourth floor, but I feel blessed to be here. And as President Klusczinski said, this is in <br />recognition of not only your 35 years of service but also because Joann was one of the <br />founding members (of the HPC) along with Ruth Price and got the ball rolling like she <br />has for so many things. I really want to say that you have been a real role model for me. <br />She would call and it would always, inevitably be when I was, "Oh I can't believe all <br />this! Things are just not fun!" And you would call with something so neat and interesting <br />to do. So, it is really my pleasure to be able to present this to you. <br />Joann: I have never had such an honor. Thank you so much.
