Discussion <br />revolved around the notion that the Commission and its staff are bound to serve the public. Any fee <br />for a special meeting would have to be directly attributable to actual cost incurred by the <br />Commission outside its normal business. Since none of the Commissioners receive compensation for <br />their duties and the office and staff costs remain the same — the actual attributable cost would be the <br />cost to provide notice in the South Bend Tribune and perhaps extra postage to mail out the packets. <br />The consensus was that imposing a fine or fee for special meetings was not a practical solution. <br />4) Other business <br />It was recommended that the Commission formally adopt the COA application and its associated <br />language. <br />
