Wayne Street LHD <br />Rating: Non Contributing <br />STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE/HISTORIC CONTEXT,: This split level ranch was built <br />between 1958 and 1960 by Hazel and Merle Rusk. Mr. Rusk was a salesman with Ben Fefferman <br />APPLICATION ITEMS : 16 x 32 In -ground pool with concrete floor, steel walls and vinyl liner <br />EAST WAYNE STREET STANDARDS: I The Environment, B. Building site, Landscaping and <br />Accessories. Required: major landscaping items, fencing, walkways, private yard lights, signs (house <br />numbers) and benches which reflect the property's history and development shall be retained. Dominant <br />land contours shall be retained. Structures such as gazebos, patio decks, fixed barbecue pits, swimming <br />pools, tennis courts, greenhouses, new walls, fountains, fixed garden furniture, trellises and other similar <br />structures shall be compatible to the historic character of the site and the neighborhood and inconspicuous <br />when viewed from a public walkway. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval as the pool will not be visible from the street and <br />will be compatible with the era of the house when in -ground pools were in vogue. <br />
