Director's Report <br />March, 2007 <br />March 2 Attended Main Street/DTSB luncheon and information session. About 25 <br />people from various City departments and HPC were in attendance. Attended Botanical <br />Society Board meeting for the adoptions of the By -Laws. <br />March 3 Dropped off Botanical Fund Raiser forms to Mishawaka Library <br />March 5 Toured Marquette Primary School with members of Landmarks <br />Committee with Principal Carla Killelea. Mailed out 38 Advisory Board Letters. <br />March 7 Landmarks Committee meeting at HPC. Contacted Derek Dieter, Buddy <br />Kirsits, Dr. Zimmerman, and Charlotte Pfeifer as requested. <br />Quarterly NNN-Memorial Hospital at 5:15pm meeting with Karen Ainsley, Ted Foti and <br />Mike(Memorial Hospital) , Chuck Leone, Wayne Doolittle (Chapin Park), Bill Hostetler <br />(River Bend). Memorial Hospital Building/Operating Rooms project is expected to wrap <br />up in three and a half years. After that then a stand along Children's Hospital will be <br />built and funding solicited from Community. The Fire Station #2 will be used for the <br />neo -natal team and for training of rescue teams. Old Pizza Hut will be torn down and <br />space used for parking. There are no current plans for the Kagel's site. <br />Karen Ainsley reported that the Portage Avenue Residential project is completed and that <br />they are now concentrating on Cottage Grove. <br />March 8 Attended the Marquette Montessori informational session at 5:30 <br />presented by Assistant Superintendent Pat O'Connor. <br />March 9 Contacted Bill Latoza as possible speaker for Southhold-left voice mail <br />message. <br />March 12 Attended Finance Committee meeting of the Northern Indiana Center for <br />History. Also attended the School Board meeting at 5:30 to hear presentation concerning <br />the primary magnet centers' grant and the Marquette Montessori Program. The item was <br />removed from the Agenda. <br />March 13 Met with school board member concerning the Primary Magnet grant and <br />was informed of the additional transportation coats, plus the grant is a matching grant and <br />the SBCSC didn't have the required twelve million dollars needed to match the grant <br />funding. Also met with Shari Crase at the Palais Royale and set the menu for the <br />Southhold Awards. <br />March 14 Met at Good Shepherd Montessori with Linda Riley, Tim Klusczinski to <br />study and tour a seasoned Montessori program and facility with Greg Kil and headmaster <br />Dan. <br />
