South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - May 16, 1997 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />a. continued.... <br />premedical volunteers. <br />Jeff Gibney noted that South Bend Heritage <br />Foundation has additional land available <br />immediately to the north that has been <br />acquired for future development. He noted <br />that they've spoken with several drug store <br />owners and are anticipating their interest in <br />joining in the development of another 8,000 <br />to 10,000 square foot building to complete <br />the commercial complex. <br />Mr. Hunt asked Jeff Gibney if the green area <br />on the site plans is the landscaping area. He <br />asked if South Bend Heritage Foundation <br />plan to screen the parking lot from Chapin <br />Street. Jeff Gibney stated that they didn't <br />plan to screen the parking lot but soften it <br />with landscaping. <br />Jeff Gibney stated that if another <br />development was to be constructed it would <br />sit on an eastwest axis. <br />Ms. Schwartz asked what would happen to <br />the clinic's current building. Jeff Gibney <br />stated that South Bend Heritage Foundation <br />owns the building currently housing the <br />clinic and they plan to do some <br />improvements on the exterior of the <br />building and look for a professional social <br />service program to occupy the building. <br />Ms. Kolata asked if the Sav -A -Lot was a <br />full service grocery store.
