659 Shawn Peterson: Your rationale. If you vote in favor of a motion to deny, you must
660 state your rationale for the record.
661 Joann Sporleder: And if I vote against the motion to deny?
662 Tim Klusczinski: You're free.
663 Joann Sporleder: I vote against the motion to deny.
664 Jerry Ujdak: I still abstain.
665 Tim Klusczinski: I vote to deny on the basis that it does not reflect the guidelines for
666
the landmark as well as the district. And, it would circumvent as
667
well as prevent more appropriate solutions that have been
668
presented tonight and by staff. I'm not sure that drafty windows are
669
the issue when there's a large gap at the top sash that hasn't been
670
remedied so far so we really don't know how well the windows can
671
perform as is before we could find alternative solutions for storms.
672 Joann Sporleder:
Excuse me, but you have not stated specifically what part of the
673
standards apply here.
674 Tim Klusczinski:
I think that I could just call to reference everything that I read
675
during the presentation. The windows aren't deteriorated beyond
676
repair, that is a specific element that I have a problem with, but
677
that is not the only thing.
678 Lynn Patrick:
We are voting on our motion to deny, so I'd like to deny so I vote
679
yay in order to deny. I vote yay to support the motion to deny. The
680
windows are not deteriorated beyond repair. These windows are
681
significant to one of THE most important houses in Chapin Park,
682
there is no damage to the public and continuing to seek a solution,
683
I don't believe what's been presented today is a solution and
684
hardship to the petitioner is minimal. You have a very large house,
685
one area with problems with the windows and it's interesting that
686
no attempt has been made to affect any repair. There's no way I
687
could in good conscious vote that these windows be replaced.
688 Linda Riley: I vote against the motion.
689 Tim Klusczinski: Mary Jane?
690 Mary Jane Chase: I abstain for two reasons; 1. the problem is that all the answers
691 were in double pane glass when I keep reading about weather
692 stripping, the drafts and we're both a little responsible here.
693 Professor Enderle is responsible for this since 2004 and now we're
20
