opportunity to get this house to look more like it did originally and I would really hate to see the aluminum stay on it. I'm not opposed, I just want to know those details in the corners and part of me is saying if it's going to get resided, this cement board is going to outlast clapboards because of the material of what it is. We should just allow those clapboards to be taken off, so that those corners can match. Klusczinski: Which is a whole different C of A. Zeiger: That's what I'm suggesting, rather than re -clad this, I'm not comfortable with putting another layer of siding, be it cement board or cedar or whatever it is, over the existing siding over it. It just doesn't work visually, though 1'd be.. Klusczinski: And 1 would concur with that. Zeiger: I'd be more disposed to say leave the trim around the windows and the corner boards which I'm going to bet, that they're there, they may not be, I'd be really surprised, but Sporleder: You know the cornice is gone and the sill is gone. Zeiger: The crown and the projects. But if you're going to go to that extent and that cost of cement board then the clapboard needs to come off because you're just not going to make it work. We approve that when clapboard has got so many layers of paint and you've got lead issues and all that, so you take it off and re -side it in something that matches i.e. cement board. Klusczinski: Is there every an alternate use for used clapboard? Zeiger: No, there's so much lead on them and paint, nail holes and splits and that. You can't get it off. Unless someone wanted to come behind and wanted to salvage it. I just want to leave that on the table from my standpoint, I'm not opposed to the cement board but I just want to be sure that it's installed properly so in 30 years someone doesn't go what the heck were they thinking when they find an extra layer there. Doesn't make sense to me. Sporleder: I have one more question. Is this house insulated? Maradik: I do not know. Klusczinski: Will it be? Maradik: If it's currently not, then it probably wouldn't be. Klusczinski: Do they gut the inner walls, do they put a vapor barrier? Maradik: I'm not positive about that. Klusczinski: Very good. Chair opens public hearing. Any other comments? Any other discussion topics from the Commission body? Sporleder: What are we thinking of doing? Klusczinski: Well, we can entertain that at this venture. I think that I'm only comfortable at this point, and this is only me speaking, to permit the NNW ability to remove the original aluminum siding, and then make the determination at that point if they want to paint or if the original siding has to comedown which is an additional - expenditure for them, so maybe this is something that they want to consider too. Perhaps they'd want to re propose new siding in place of maybe the original clapboard or not maybe at some point propose the exact same thing. I'm just trying to propose some options, maybe for the purposes of exploration, maybe let you see what's underneath it and deal with it f it's the NNN's pleasure to do so. That would be my thoughts on this whole thing so that any of the variables that we don't have answers on this whole thing tonight, we could determine at some other point after we've been able to see it.
