Kring: Ours is going to be very similar to this, the only reason that I showed the other awnings is
to show the consistency in the area. Awnings are very common, in the downtown corridor.
Sporleder: In this picture it looks like this is going to be your writing on the front, top slope of it.
Kring: Yes, we actually shortened up the projection so it's a little more readable for people
traveling along the street. We did have it projecting our further, but we shrunk it up to make it
more legible.
Klusczinski: Thank you very much. Any more questions for the petitioner? Any Commission
discussion?
Zeiger: Did the Commission approve Zirkle's sign? It's on the same building? Do you
remember?
Hostetler: No, not offhand.
Zeiger: I just wondered about that and the Christian Science Reading room the same deal.
Doolittle: The awnings were approved by the Commission.
Chase: Zirkle? I don't remember Zirkle...
Zeiger: I'm sorry, I was just curious as they're all on the same building and...
Hostetler: That's kind of not germane to this because...
Zeiger: Well, it is in a sense because they're all on the same building and I'm just looking at
design. I don't like Zirkle's, just trying to get some consistency on that building overtime. I'm
not advocating for the Zirkle design, I'm just saying that as that one gets replaced; we should
look at that with context of the use. Ifhvhen Zirkle moves out or replaces that, we should look at
that more closely...
Hostetler: That would be a good idea.
Patrick: Maybe you'll think of that if you get the contract if that ever gets replaced.
Kring: Sure.
Klusczinski: Very good, any other discussion? Hearing none, I open the public hearing, is there
anyone wishing to speak in support of the petition? Hearing none, is there any member of the
public wishing to speak in opposition? Again hearing none, I close public hearing. Any other
final comments? Very good, ok. I'll entertain a motion.
Patrick: Id like to move to approve application number 2007 -0806A for 106 North Main Street
awnings as submitted.
Zeiger: I'll second.
Klusczinski: Very good, motion on the floor and has been seconded. All in favor? (Ayes are
heard) Opposed?
Chase: I abstain.
Klusczinski: Very good. Motion carries.
Moved: Patrick Second: Zeiger
To approve C of A 2007 -0806A Approved 6 -0
Chase abstains
Application Number: 2007 -0806B
Property Location: 508 - 508 % Lindsey
Property Owner: NNN
Landmark or.District Designation: Chapin Park LHD
Rating: Non contributing
STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE/HISTORIC CONTEXT: Bunker Young House is an American
Four Square built between 1902 and 1903.
