TK: I had a couple questions for the petitioner. I could see no indication of specific window
locations designated for replacement under this proposal. Do you have any sketch of your house
the ones that you're indicating for this ten window replacement?
GE: Yes, they are in the packet that I sent to you. They are exactly written down with the
measurements and everything.
TK: I have that, but I didn't know where these are featured on the house itself.
JS: It's the location of the windows that hes askingfor.
GE: The location is on the second floor.
TK: All the windows are second floor?
GE: No, no, not all. Four are the dining room, four are the bedroom and two are the bathroom.
JS: What is the location of the upstairs room? Front room? Back room? Side room, what?
GE: it's on the, not the front side, it's on the southeast side, towards my neighbor on the left.
TK: Thank you. A follow up to that... the C of A form as well as Mr. Enderle's letter dated
1010512006 and the petition for the replacement often window units total. Five rectangular, and
five rounded. I could find no drawing or illustrations for the five rounded top replacements of the
dimensions of the original examples that they would compliment. Am I missing something out my
packet, or do I just have examples of straight top windows here?
GE: You have the samples from the dining room, yes.
TK: When I tallied the number of replacements indicated in the quantity column in the quotation
pages, I found ten listed for double hung windows and none under radius and geometric
windows. How do I reconcile that with the five and jive proposal? Meaning that the C ofA
proposal asks for permission to replace five rounded top windows and five straight top windows
but all of your quotations show ten straight top windows and no quantity of radius top.
GE: They are four and six. But you are right that I have the drawings for the dining room, I did
not have time to prepare all the other because I was out of the country and I had to out of town
again. I have the measures here I can give you that, how it would look like. The basic problem is
what I mentioned before- that if we install zap pack windows as proposed by our Inspector, it
does not work. I can show you tomorrow because it is a square....
TK: I understand sir, and all that I'm asking you if you have any examples to look at for what
you've proposed to do for the arched top windows, and I see none.
GE: Um-hmm.
TK: So you intend to replace five arched top windows, but 1 don't have anything in my packet
suggesting that.
GE: Not in the packet.
TK: No illustration?
GE: Yes.
TK: Thank you.
LR- Would it be possible, since this is such an important house, for the Commissioners to go to
the house as Joann did and look at this? She seems convinced that this should be approved, and I
would like to see it before we vote.
LP: We've done that before and we may end up doing it this time. Let me see what our other
comment is.
MJC: This replacement often windows will not replace all of the windows in the house? Do you
intend to do the rest of them at a later date?
GE: Well I will come back to your Commission for that.
MJC: Is your plan to eventually get the whole house....
GE: If I have the money and the time, and the permission from you, and the experience. One
important reason is the experience. I have lived in the house for two years; it's taken two years
to find out how I can heat the house properly. So it's a very complicated system, and that's why I
am proposing only the most urgent windows because I want to test, to find out, if that really
works or not. If it does not work, I am the first who is unhappy. I mean, it must work. And that's
why I am not proposing the full thing, I cannot do that. I don't have the experience and the
money and the time and the knowledge.
0
