Catherine Hostetler: What we would like to do is before you submit another proposal
that when you work with your architect from Notre Dame that you include members of
the Commission to work with you so that this thing can be crafted in such a way so that it
will succeed.
Georges Enderle: Well, I would like to have him here, right here at the table. I don't
think he has much time to meet some hours with us, I don't think. Probably he would be
willing to. be here at the table. Because as far as I know, when I asked him about single
glass or two glass windows, he clearly stated that the insulation with two glasses was
better than with one glass.
Catherine Hostetler: I think it would help if we were working with you. We would all
sit down together and try to solve this, resolve this problem in away that is satisfactory
rather than you going away from this meeting, setting up another meeting with somebody
else, addressing a problem and then coming back and then not having input from the
Commission before, this way we could have something that will succeed.
Lynn Patrick: It wouldn't have to be all of us. It could be Catherine, maybe Tim, maybe
Wayne, maybe Joann.
Georges Enderle: I am very suspicious that Mr. Polotto has the time. He is running
around the world twenty-four hours.
Shawn Peterson: I think the suggestion is that when he comes over to your house to take
a look at them if it's possible to have one individual, either from the staff or the
commission, to come out; because I think that they could provide some guidance as far as
suppliers or techniques or that he may know, but not think when he looks at the windows.
And just be at the meeting when he comes to your house with enough people with their
expertise, someone should be able to make that meeting.
Professor Enderle and the Commission then engaged in a discussion of suppliers,
especially Marvin, and their work on the historical windows at Central High School and
storm windows at Leslie Choitz's house.
Lynn Patrick: Requests a motion for adjournment.
Joann Sporleder: So moved.
There was a discussion with Shawn Peterson and Professor Enderle that detailed what the
staff would provide in a letter. There was a discussion between Joann-Sporleder and
Shawn Peterson concerning the meaning of the Chapin Park District Standards and
Guidelines as they pertain to windows.
Tim Klusczinski: I second the motion.
The motion to adjourn passes unanimously.
6
