JOANN SPORLEDER: Beginning when?
CATHERINE HOSTETLER: His contract, I believe, states that it goes from December
1" of this year to November 30th, 2006. We have a request from the county
commissioners to put him on a fiscal calendar year beginning as soon as possible.
JOANN SPORLEDER: Are there appropriations in the budget for that?
CATHERINE HOSTETLER: Yes there are. So instead of this contract going from
December 1St, 2005, you may want to amend it to go from December 1st, 2005 through
December 31St, 2006.
JOANN SPORLEDER: I so move for the change of the fiscal time period.
TODD ZEIGER: I second the motion and it passes unanimously.
JOANN SPORLEDER: I also move that we accept the contract as presented and as
amended fiscally.
MARY JANE CHASE: Seconds the motion and it passes unanimously.
JOANN SPORLEDER: I would like to mention that in driving up and down Park
Avenue I have noticed another renovation going on at 810 Park Avenue. They have put
in new columns and balustrades and are still currently working on it. I don't see any C
of A for that anywhere. In my opinion it is architecturally incorrect. -
CATHERINE HOSTETLER: If it is the same property I am thinking of that had to go
through a variance hearing and that pre -dated the historic district.
JOANN SPORLEDER: But, they're still working on it.
CATHERINE HOSTETLER: I know, but the variance and the work pre -dated the
historic district so there's nothing we can do about it.
2. East Wayne Street Historic District Signage
CATHERINE HOSTETLER: The East Wayne Street Historic District signs have been
approved. There are four of them. Our cost would be $168.80 for the new signs.
JOHN OXIAN: Where are the pictures/drawings of these new signs?
CATHERINE HOSTETLER: The signs have already been made up. I do not have
them. We have seen them and they are very attractive. They are gray and burgundy
signs with the logo of the East Wayne Street Historic District on them. They already
have sign posts attached to them.
JOHN OXIAN: Wouldn't it be right to have them here when you're approving this?
That is the proper way for the commission to see what the logo looks like.
CATHERINE HOSTETLER: I agree. I didn't bring them because I don't have them.
We would incur half the cost of the bill and the city would incur the other half. (See
white copy of bill from Traffic Sign Shop attached to HPC monthly meeting binder).
JOHN OXIAN: Will you send us a picture of this so we can see what they look like?
CATHERINE HOSTETLER: Yes I will. The East Wayne Street Liaison Committee
designed them and the building department put them together.
JOHN OXIAN: I will make a motion that the bill for the signs be paid and that all of our
commission members receive a picture of the signs.
MARY JANE CHASE: Seconds the motion and it passes unanimously.
JOHN OXIAN: Catherine, did you get a request today for a roofing job on LaMonte
Terrace?
CATHERINE HOSTETLER: No, I did not.
JOHN OXIAN: You will be receiving one. The person called me on Saturday. She was
asking for bids to have her roof done. The roofer I know very well came in after the first
26
