1013 E. JEFFERSON <br />LOCAL LaND,MARK <br />The Studebaker'Johnson House located at 1013 E. Jefferson fulfills the criteria of the <br />Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend and St. Joseph County to be designated <br />a Local Landmark of the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />1. It is architecturally;'historically important and connected to the <br />development of the area because it was designed by Ennis ALlstin for <br />Harry D. Johnson, Jr., eldest grandson of John M. Studebaker and a plaster <br />mechanic at the Stud ebaker Corporation. <br />2. Its educational value as an architecturally significant honle owned b% a <br />member of t he prominent Studebaker Family, <br />3. Its suitabilit% for preservation because It IS rated Signi ficant oil OIIC Clt�" <br />Survev and was deli med by Ennis :distill in 1 907. Ennis Austin was a <br />partner of the prominent architectur firm of ALlStin and Sharnbleall. <br />
