CALLED MEETING TO ORDER <br />MARTHA CHOITZ: Called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm. <br />II. PUBLIC HEARING <br />A. CERTIFICATES OF APPROPRIATENESS <br />1. 2005-0906; 930 Riverside Drive -motion to remove from agenda <br />MARTHA CHOITZ: I will make a motion that we remove this C of A from the <br />meeting agenda because the owners are contemplating some major changes in their <br />drawings. <br />JOANN SPORLEDER: Seconds the motion and it passes unanimously. <br />2. 2005-1005; Navarre Cabin Restoration in Leeper Park <br />CATHERINE HOSTETLER: (See staff report, pictures and work description for cabin <br />attached to C of A in HPC meeting binder). <br />MARTHA CHOITZ: Todd, you're on the committee that is overseeing this project; so <br />we would like to hear any comments you would like to make on this. <br />TODD ZEIGER: I will recuse myself from the vote since I am an the project <br />committee. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have. This is a project <br />between the Northern Indiana Center for History Historical Society, the Historic <br />Preservation Commission, and the Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana to bring a <br />little more historic accuracy to the Navarre cabin. There is partial funding by the Indiana <br />Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology, and the Historical Society is <br />providing the match to do a variety of items that have been described. <br />JOANN SPORLEDER: Is it absolutely documented that this cabin was in fact built c. <br />1820? <br />TODD ZEIGER: My role in this was to take the study that was done by Vic <br />Leatherwood, who was hired by the Historical Society as a consultant in log cabin design <br />and restoration, and tum the report into specifications. All of the research was done a <br />year or so ago through the Historical Society's archives. So, as far as the dates are <br />concerned, you would need to refer to them.
