STAFF REPORT
CONCERNING APPLICATION FOR A
CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS
Date: October 7, 2005
Application Number: 2005-1007
Property Location: 308 Lamont Terrace
Property Owner: Sheryl and Jonathan Vernon
Landmark or District Designation: Chapin Park Local Historic District / NRD
Rating: 0/13
STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE/HISTORIC CONTEXT
1912 Prairie home designed by Austin and Shambleau for Mr. and Mrs. George Zinky.
APPLICATION ITEMS: Install a new 6 foot "Board On Board" wood fence on the back of the property line
and southeast comer(77 feet) and a new 4 foot "Villager II" on the side of the house to the existing fence (34
feet). The Board On Board matches an existing fence in neighbor's yard.
RECOMMENDATION: Standards: " New or different fencing requires a C Of A and shall reflect the
style and character of the individual property and the surrounding environment and properties. Fencing
visible from the street in front of the structure shall be open (meaning spaces between the pickets), and
consistent with the historic character of a structure enclosed." Staff recommends approval. The Villager
II selection has spaces between the pickets.
