This will draw more people in and may create a situation that
warrants the event become an annual fait.
• Outdoor event with a rain location close by or inside event
• Workshops and presentations by the top preservation specialists in the state and region
• Vendor & Contractor area. Vendors pay a fee for space and provide homeowners with access
to unique goods and services. Some vendors could also be speakers.
• Food vendors get invited to sell food and beverage
• Have events for kids. Clowns and/or magicians.
• Run a continuous video xoom. Blue Vinyl, About Your House with Bob Ya
p and other pertinent
videos could be shown on a loop.
• Get several corporate sponsors like banks etc. for a fee. ie $1,000 each x 4 = $4,000
• Charge vendors a booth space fee. ie $250 each x 15 vendors =$3,750
• Charge admission ie $10 each x 1,000 = $10,000
• City or otre Dame indoor facility?
• Historic District folks could partner up with the event and hold another complimentary event
like a house tour for added value. Ticket prices could be two tiered.
• Will need to find a volunteer event coordinator -we have a lead on one now.
• Will need two dedicated HPC members, HPC staff and HLFI staff to help from beginning to
end.
• Raise expense money for printing, chairs, tent rental, and a few well placed ads. etc.
• Run all finances through HLFI and split the net proceeds between the two organizations.
HLFI would donate a percentage of net proceeds to the HPC partner.
• Use HLFI's media department to conduct a massive PR campaign to promote the event.
• As an annual or bi-annual event, each Fair should be co-sponsored by an HPC.
