DIRECT'OR'S REPORT <br />JULY, 2005 <br />June 29 Start Up Grant meetings for the Survey work for South Bend and St. Joseph <br />County in Indianapolis with Shannon Hill, Steven Kennedy, Melanie, and <br />Frank Hurdis. <br />June 30 Arranged for paperwork from City for first installment of $12,500.00, part <br />of this funded Julie's salary increase which went into effect 6/30. Check was <br />received and receipted by Audit on July 14. <br />July 7 Submitted Jerry Ujdak's and Diane Wroble-Mes's requests for <br />reappointment to the County Council's Office. They were approved on <br />,July 12. Terms will run until July 31, 2008 <br />July 8 Coordinated an interview with WVPE and the city surveyors which took <br />place on July 12. Met with Jan Maciulski from River Park concerning the <br />petition for landmarking the zoo, park and greenhouse/conservatory. <br />Suggested that National Register would be suitable since City could access <br />grant funds. <br />July 13 Quarterly meeting with Memorial Hospital and NNN: Attended by Phil <br />Newbold, Ted Foti, Rebekah Go, Wayne Doolittle and William and <br />Catherine Hostetler. <br />Memorial Drive and Bartlett closing project too expensive for City and <br />Memorial to implement. The free standing Cancer Center will also not be <br />built at this time. Hospital now plans to build a power plant/receiving dock <br />in front of the Centcurnial Building which will be a three year project <br />beginning in 2006. Bartlett Street between Main and Lafayette may be <br />closed after this. Once the power plant is completed 12 new Operating <br />Rooms are expected be constructed near the current entrance. Wayne <br />brought up the noise issue that neighbors believe is emanating From <br />Memorial. They are circulating a petition. Ted said that their Acoustical <br />Engineers said it wasn't from the Hospital but agreed to go out with Wayne <br />to determine the source of the noise. <br />,July 14 Meeting with Paul Hayden, Todd Zeiger, Julie Schutte with David Fecteu, <br />Marco Mariani, Pan Meyer, Jose Arevalo and Lt. Dave Woods concerning <br />redevelopment of Western Ave. area where Relics is located and what <br />funding was available. <br />
