JANET MACIULSHI: I am from the River Park Neighborhood Association. I am also
here for the same issue that these ladies are here for. This is something that we had a
motion on the table for at our last board meeting. We unanimously voted to support
saving the greenhouse. We didn't talk about saving the whole zoo; so that's not part of
our motion. We are definitely concerned about the greenhouse. You asked earlier what
the motivation was for doing this. There was an article on when the new conservatory
was dedicated and Mr. Newman said, "If we want the children to appreciate beauty we
must have something of beauty to show them." I think that the greenhouse is an
awesome example of something that's very beautiful. I think there are a lot of people
who just go to the greenhouse and really don't want the zoo atmosphere. The
conservatory has a different kind of atmosphere and I think it should stay where it is right
now.
Lynn Patrick stated that later on down the road a letter from her neighborhood
organization would be nice too. Janet Maciulski said that her neighborhood organization
would definitely write a letter in support of the greenhouse.
VII.
