Daniels, Jr., Governor
xeiomc omsmwan
uw 4eauaom
This letter is in reference to your recent application for FY05 Historic Preservation Fund grant
assistance for the St. Joseph County Field Check Survey. The State Review Board on Historic
Preservation met today to consider the FY05 grant applications.
It is my pleasure to inform you that based on Indiana's expected HPF allocation, the DHPA
tentatively anticipates funding your project. Although our office cannot make any formal grant
award until written confirmation is received from the federal government, we do wish to inform
you that we expect to offer the Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend and St. Joseph
County $4,200 in federal matching grant funds.
Since this is a matching grant, the federal funding will make up 70% of the project cost, while
the local sponsoring organization is responsible for contributing the remaining 30%. Also note
that this financial assistance comes in the form of a reimbursement grant, where you will be
reimbursed for up to 70% of the project costs after you submit documentation of expenditures.
This letter should not be construed as a financial commitment from the State, nor should
any work on the project be initiated. However, you may wish to plan your tentative work
schedule for the coming months based on the assumption that a grant offer will be forthcoming.
Upon approval of your grant award by the National Park Service, formal notification of the grant
will be mailed to you from the State Historic Preservation Officer.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the DHPA Grants Staff at (317) 232-1646.
Siner y,
Steve
Chief of Grants and Administration
Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology
Cc: Shannon Hill, Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana
An Equal Opportunity Employer
Printed on Recycled Paper
