SuNect: Erskine 5 - 2/14/05 council meeting
Hello, all,
There was a good presence at last night's city council meeting of those in opposition to the development
of Erskine. From what I heard the mayor say at the meeting, and from the front page article in today's
Tribune (htt://www.southbendtribune.coni/stories/2005/02/15/local.20050215-sbt-LOCL-A1_
Opposition mounts to. sto ) we have some work to do.
Great work those of you who are collecting signatures. Individuals do not have to live on the south
side. They do have to be 18 years old or older. People have contacted me from Lakeside, Granger,
Portage Ave. Everyone will go into the database, then we can separate out by zip code at a later date.
We can't get discouraged. Two council members are against it, and it takes five to vote it down. Those
of you who haven't contacted council members yet, this would be a good time to let them know how you
feel. (Contact information available at bttp•//www.ci.south-
bend.in.us/Clerk/City_Council.htm ) Common Councilmen Varner and Dieter are leaning against the
prospect of developing Erskine.
Keep up the good work, everyone.
Suzanne
