Assistant Director's Report <br />October — December 2005 <br />October 20 — 22 Attended the Cornelius O'Brien Preservation — Main Street Indiana <br />- Conference in Lafayette, Indiana. <br />October 24 Meeting with South Bend Sign Shop & East Wayne Street <br />Neighborhood representatives about new design for their historic <br />district signage. <br />October 26 Meeting regarding the Navarre Cabin grant with Todd, David <br />Bainbridge, Cheryl Taylor, Catherine, and Joann <br />October 27 Walk-through of Navarre Cabin with Judy Collins, National Parks <br />Service, and Todd; follow-up from the meeting on the 26th <br />November 2 The Morris Marquee unveiling <br />November 9 Landmarks Committee Meeting on the Bergen Building and the <br />Riverview Cemetery Gatehouse <br />November 15 Walk-through of Gatehouse with Cemetery Reps., Bob, Todd, <br />Wayne, John, and Lynn <br />November 18 Walk-through of Bergen Building with Paul Schmidt, Bob, Lynn, <br />and Wayne <br />December 14 Special Meeting of the Commission in Executive Session <br />The Lincolnway and Taylor's Field guidebooks have been reviewed by the Historic <br />Districts committee and staff. They have been sent to the printer to make the appropriate <br />copy edits. - <br />Bev Peterson completed her research work for Chapin Park on November 181' and <br />submitted her notebooks the following week. I have drafting the Chapin Park Building <br />Inventory from Bev's research notes for and was able to send these files to the printer on <br />December 8"'. The books now depend on the printer's schedule. We do expect to see a <br />proof before they are actually printed. The guidelines and standards will be placed on the <br />website in the meantime. <br />
