Director's Report October 17 -December 15, 2005 October 18 Arranged for Lou Sabo to document the Studebaker Buildings to be demolished. Attended the Area Plan Commission meeting concerning the Catholic Worker Houses on W. Washington Street and delivered Commission's position statement. October 20-22 Attended the Cornelius O'Brien -Main Street Conference in Lafayette, Indiana. October 24 Staff met with Linda Riley and the Sign Department concerning the new design for East Wayne Street LHD District signs. HPC will pay for 2 of the 4 new signs. October 26 Meeting with Todd- Zeiger and Joann Sporleder concerning the Navarre Cabin. October 27 Meeting on Navarre Cabin with Cheryl Taylor, Director for Northern Indiana Center for History November 1 Attended Granger Paths meeting at the Harris Library. HPC will write a letter of support for their MACOG grant. November 2 Morris Center for the Performing Arts Marquee Dedication after the meeting with Memorial Hospital at the NNN. Issues addressed by Memorial Hospital were the expansion of the Surgical wing toward the Bartlett Garage, the location of a free standing Children's Hospital on top of the new surgical wing (Memorial is the Indiana's 3 largest Children's Hosp.); the sewer work on Lafayette in the Spring 2006, most trees on Lafayette will be lost; Summer 2006 work on the substrate of the new Bartlett Street will be done at the same time as the Leeper/Michigan Bridge; the noise issue from the cooling towers is being remedied with new fans and motors. November 3 Meeting with Auditor Michael Eby concerning the funding of the 4 Grants HPC is administering. Attended GloryJune's lecture and book signing at the Old Republic in New Carlisle with Lynn Patrick and MaryJane Chase. November 9 Introductory meeting with Chuck Leone and Shawn Peterson; Landmark's Committee meeting concerning Bergen Building and Gate House at Riverview Cemetery.
