Director's Report <br />October 17 -December 15, 2005 <br />October 18 Arranged for Lou Sabo to document the Studebaker Buildings to be <br />demolished. Attended the Area Plan Commission meeting concerning the <br />Catholic Worker Houses on W. Washington Street and delivered <br />Commission's position statement. <br />October 20-22 Attended the Cornelius O'Brien -Main Street Conference in Lafayette, <br />Indiana. <br />October 24 Staff met with Linda Riley and the Sign Department concerning the <br />new design for East Wayne Street LHD District signs. HPC will pay for 2 <br />of the 4 new signs. <br />October 26 Meeting with Todd- Zeiger and Joann Sporleder concerning the Navarre <br />Cabin. <br />October 27 Meeting on Navarre Cabin with Cheryl Taylor, Director for Northern <br />Indiana Center for History <br />November 1 Attended Granger Paths meeting at the Harris Library. HPC will write a <br />letter of support for their MACOG grant. <br />November 2 Morris Center for the Performing Arts Marquee Dedication after the <br />meeting with Memorial Hospital at the NNN. Issues addressed by <br />Memorial Hospital were the expansion of the Surgical wing toward the <br />Bartlett Garage, the location of a free standing Children's Hospital on top of <br />the new surgical wing (Memorial is the Indiana's 3 largest Children's <br />Hosp.); the sewer work on Lafayette in the Spring 2006, most trees on <br />Lafayette will be lost; Summer 2006 work on the substrate of the new <br />Bartlett Street will be done at the same time as the Leeper/Michigan Bridge; <br />the noise issue from the cooling towers is being remedied with new fans <br />and motors. <br />November 3 Meeting with Auditor Michael Eby concerning the funding of the 4 Grants <br />HPC is administering. Attended GloryJune's lecture and book signing at <br />the Old Republic in New Carlisle with Lynn Patrick and MaryJane Chase. <br />November 9 Introductory meeting with Chuck Leone and Shawn Peterson; Landmark's <br />Committee meeting concerning Bergen Building and Gate House at <br />Riverview Cemetery. <br />
