It has a large single light over two panels. As the Riverside Drive
guidelines recommend wood storm doors, this existing door is in keeping with the philosophy of the
district's rehabilitation guidelines to encourage restoration of original and appropriate materials, if not
design. This door has unfortunately warped due to sun exposure and weathering, and the door hardware
(springs and hinges) is broken. ,
The Price's propose to install a triple track aluminum storm door, which is not historically
appropriate to their Queen Anne — Carpenter Builder style house based on the proposed door's materials
and design. The proposed door is as historic as the storm door existing at the time of the district's
founding, but not as appropriate as the present wood storm door. Staff would have recommended a
replacement wood storm door similar to the design of the existing storm door.
