DRAFT <br />Wednesday, October 6, 2004 <br />TO: Toy Villa, Public Works <br />FROM: Catherine d. Hostetler, Director <br />RE: Lamppost Lighting Project in Local Historic Districts and Local <br />Landmarks <br />Residents and owners of homes in local historic districts throughout the city of South <br />Bend may participate in the Lamppost project without applying for a certificate of <br />appropriateness by using the Historic fixture in bronze or black. Owners of Local <br />Landmark homes may choose the design and color that best compliments their home. <br />RATIONALE: The lamppost is considered a feature that will not detract from the overall <br />view of the home. It is being installed by the "direct bury" method which will allow for <br />long-term use and easy removal without disturbing the landscape. The addition of yard <br />lights in the local historic districts is not to be considered a substitute for additional <br />streetlights or the repair and maintenance of existing streetlights. <br />Please fill in the information below <br />Name of Owner <br />Address of Location <br />Date <br />Please make COPY and send to HPC for their records. <br />
