CALLED TO ORDER <br />JOHN OXIAN: Called meeting to order at 7:33. <br />11. . PUBLIC HEARING <br />A. CERTIFICATES OF APPROPRIATENESS <br />1. 2004-0304; Leeper Park West; remove 2 box elder trees. <br />JULIE SCHUTTE: (See staff report attached to C of A). The homeowner, Don <br />Sappington, was present. <br />DON SAPPINGTON: The box elder bugs come in through the front of the house and <br />they hibernate under the shingles in our house. They hibernate in the fall and they come <br />out in the spring. This is an everyday occurrence in our living room. They are <br />everywhere. You *can collect maybe ten or fifteen bugs and kill them and you can leave <br />the room and -come back in ten minutes and there will be half a dozen more bugs. The <br />bugs are harmless and they don't bite. Spraying the trees would help, if they are sprayed <br />properly in late summer. The reason why we have had so many problems this year is <br />because I was incapacitated most of last year due to health problems. Every year I spray <br />the front of our house at least half a dozen to a dozen times. We didn't seem to have as <br />
