The
advantages of the QL lighting system are particularly
evident in applications where maintenance of the light
source is difficult, and therefore expensive. This is
particularly true of the car parks at the airport, where
areas have to be barricaded off when lamps need to be
exchanged. With the cost-effective QL lamps, which Philips
guarantees for five years, expensive maintenance work will
not be needed for several years at least. Plans have been
drawn up to convert all the existing 1,500 luminaires, with
1,000 luminaires already changed. Savings of about AS 1.5
million a year are expected by cutting the connected load from 2 x
per light to 2 x 55W 840 QL and reducing maintenance costs.
125W m
Project: Comet Retail Lighting Location;
United Kingdom
Projection Lighting developed the LX lumina
around the Philips 165W QL lamp, especially
Comet, a UK leading electrical retailer.
