Thoughtful engineering and a patented design exclusive to Kolbe & Kolbe have created a window that gives you a new point of view. This window lets you take full advantage of the outdoors. r `'`' ' Operation & Hardware: Most garden windows are constructed of five sash — one top, one ry . bottom, one front and two side sash. Units that are 6-0 wide, however, have two top sash which vent, for a total of six sash. In all garden windows, the top sash vent using stainless steel hinges, ax"terIVAIM03" PMTOS a chain drive mechanism, and a white or beige t -handle. Extension handles are available for windows that are hard to reach. The side, front, and bottom sash do not (and cannot) vent. Construction: Garden window jambs are 4-9/16" as standard, and may be factory -applied up to a width of 6-9/16". Douglas fir jambs are standard; oak may be requested. The exterior projection is 13-15/16" for all sizes. Units are factory -assembled and ready for installation.' Weatherstripping: The venting sash of garden windows have dual -weatherstripping at all points for energy -efficiency. Screens: Interior screens are standard on the top, venting sash of garden windows. Screens are constructed of 18 x 16 fiberglass mesh as standard; aluminum mesh is available. The white screen frames are aluminum with comer keys for stability. A wood screen frame is optional, and will be Douglas fir unless requested otherwise. Glass Options: The top, front and side sash of Sundance Series garden windows are glazed with 7/8" H°K glass, which is dual - insulating glass units with LoEz and argon gas.; All 6-0 wide units have two top sash. The bottom sash have 1/2" H°K insulating glass which is tempered for safety. Glass options include LoE Sun -145, and tempered glass for all sash. Finish Choices: Kolbe & Kolbe offers the option of having the exterior of your garden window high performance -primed so that it may be painted in the field. Or, you may choose one of our many colors of high performance K -Kron it exterior finish. Shelf Options: Shelves may be added to garden windows, making a natural growing space for plants or a dazzling display case for collectibles. Available shelf styles include angled, slatted shelves and ;lass, wood -framed shelves. As standard, shelf wood is Douglas fir, however oak may be requested. Multi -View Option: A multi-view option is available for units that are four, five or six feet wide. The bottom and front sash are two units each, and the top sash includes two units in a single, venting sash. Mulled Units: Garden windows are also available as mulled units, with an interior vertical mull post for additional strength. Width restrictions may apply. NOTES: Installation screws are recommended to penetrate framing by 2-1/2" minimum. z Units to be installed in cr shipped through high attitude areas may not include argon gas. Also, small cutlites may not include argon gas. 3 If ordered without K -Kron II, parts which are visible after installation will not include fingedoints. If ordered with K -Kron II, visible exterior surfaces may include fingedoints. All measurements are nominal.
