On galvanized or badly rusted metal, first remove loose materials with a wire brush. Scrub galvanized steel clean with a 1:20 solution of Conklin's Rust Off' and water. Rinse and thoroughly dry all surfaces AFTER and then apply Metal Ready. One gallon covers 300 square feet. It cleans up easily with mineral spirits. Suitable top coats include Conklin's Show Kote' paint and Kolor Kote finish coat, Benchmark' and Rapid Roof' roof coatings, Alumify' aluminum paint, or most oil- or water- based products. Note: Do not apply Metal Ready at temperatures below 40'F or during inclement weather. "I presently make my living in the steel fabrication business. New system cost: 4% gallons primer at $14 per gallon = $63, plus 3% gallons paint at $15 per gallon = $52.50 = $115.50 5.
