CERTIFICATES OF APPROPRIATENESS
1. 2003-0224; 1120 East Wayne Street; restore improperly replaced
gutters and downspouts.
KAREN HAMMOND-NASH: The owners, forgetting to obtain a C. of A., hired a
contractor to replace their roof gutters. The contractor did, removing a piece of wooden
cornice molding in the process. The resulting gutters failed to catch the rainwater. The
owner, belatedly, has sought a C. of A.
The contractor, although he performed the job according to bid specifications, has
kindly offered to replace the non-functional gutters with more efficient gutters, pending
HPC approval. I have seen a photograph of the cornice molding that was removed and
this owner has it with him.
