CATHERINE HOSTETLER: Reported that she had audited the 2002 accounts, and the <br />accounts from January 2003, and everything was in order. <br />VIRGINIA O'HAIR: Moved that the treasurer's report be accepted. <br />GERALD UJDAK: Seconds the motion and it passes unanimously. <br />C. LEGAL REPORT <br />THOMAS BODNAR: Had nothing to report. <br />D. STAFF REPORTS <br />KAREN HAMMOND-NASH: Several Certificates of Appropriateness have received <br />staff approval; correspondence has been received regarding the removal of boulders of <br />the East Wayne Street tree island, and regarding the pending sale of the Book Inn, located <br />at 508 West Washington Street, South Bend, IN. The Historic Preservation Commission <br />has a fagade easement, and the right of first refusal to purchase the building. <br />CATHERINE HOSTETLER: Moved that the staff inform the owner of the Book Inn that <br />the HPC was declining to purchase the Book Inn at this time, and that it might be offered <br />to other potential purchasers. <br />GERALD UJDAK: Seconds the motion and it passes unanimously. <br />E. COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />1. River Bank Erosion Control Coordinating Committee <br />LYNN PATRICK: Reported that the committee that she is heading would not be called <br />the River Bank Erosion Control Coordinating Committee, but that it would be called the <br />River Bank Coordination Committee. She further reported that she is assembling <br />information and will call a committee meeting at some future point in time, when <br />sufficient information has been collected. <br />2. Historic Districts Committee <br />The Districts Committee reported that progress is being made on the reprinting of the <br />Local Historic District Guideline books. <br />3. Executive Committee <br />John Oxian directed that the Executive Committee will interview applicants for the <br />Assistant Director's position, after the director has interviewed applicants. John Oxian <br />suggested, and the other members of the Executive Committee agreed, that they did not <br />wish to interview applicants until the director had performed screening interviews first. <br />
