II. Due to its deteriorated condition the approach railing will be removed and <br />replaced with the same decorative railing to be placed on the existing <br />outside coping of the bridge proper. This railing shall have the elongated <br />oval shape opening approved by the HPC on June 16, 2003. <br />III. Replace existing outside rail with a decorative rail similar to existing <br />railing and place vertical posts aligned above floor beams to emulate the <br />existing vertical pattern. This railing shall have the elongated oval shape <br />opening approved by the HPC on June 16, 2003. <br />IV. Replace deteriorated cross beams with the same number and basic <br />symmetry as existing pattern <br />V. Remove non - historic aluminum rail at curb line <br />VI. Coat all exposed concrete with new masonry to provide uniform texturing <br />and color to the entire bridge. <br />VII. Re- install historic plaques on railing at original locations <br />VIII. Bridge #211 carrying Angela Boulevard over the St. Joseph River shall be <br />documented, prior to the commencement of construction and demolition <br />activities, at a minimum, in the following manner: <br />a. A cover page with the historic name or names (e.g., Angela <br />Boulevard Bridge), most recent name (if any), and street address of <br />the historic property, typed or printed on 8" by 11" paper <br />b. A typed or printed description of the historic property on 8" by 11" <br />paper, including at least the following: <br />i. A verbal description of the bridge, including a description <br />of materials and notable architectural features and a <br />statement of the dimensions of the overall bridge (e.g., <br />length and width); <br />ii. A map of the City of South Bend with the location of the <br />historic property marked; <br />C. A brief description of the alterations that have been or will be <br />completed. <br />d. A brief, typed or printed history of the bridge and a written <br />statement of the bridge's significance to the City of South Bend on <br />8" by 11" paper, focusing, in particular, on its history prior to <br />1950. <br />
