thistle Sc heat <br />hi9hlana dancers; T <br />The Thistle & Heather Dancers of C h i cago l a nd founded <br />in 1981 are "ethnic artists" of Highland Dance. They <br />per f orm the colorful, expressive and physically <br />demanding traditional Scottish Highland and National <br />Dances. <br />Ensembles of Thistle & Heather dancers have <br />performed throughout the Midwest and on a variety of <br />television shows. Many of the dancers also participate in <br />Highland Dance competitions throughout the Midwest. <br />Nancy Strolle, founder an d irector of the dance <br />group, has been involved with Highland Dance since she <br />was five years o She has studied in Scotland, is a <br />Member of the British Association of Teachers of Dance. <br />Assistant teacher is M. Sally Wilhelm, an Associate of <br />the British Association of Teachers of Dance. <br />The Celtic Heritage Society is working with the <br />Thistle & Heather Highland Dancers of Chicagoland to <br />organize regular sessions of Highland Dance instruction <br />at St. Patrick's Center here in South Bend, Indiana.
