Note to Commission Members: <br />Two new matters have arisen, both regarding previously issued Certificates <br />of Appropriateness. The owners have discovered, in the course of the <br />renovations previously authorized, that additional work is needed, beyond <br />that which was before you previously. If the Commission feels sufficiently <br />informed to approve these without discussion, you could put them at the top <br />of the agenda; if they require discussion, they could go after the other two C <br />of As. <br />A Motion to amend the agenda would be in order, to add <br />1. 2002-0603; 411 West Northshore Drive; Lucy & Bob Jones. <br />Replace artificial siding and restore original trim detail. <br />A letter from Mr. Jones arrived late Thursday, so it and a <br />recommendation from me were in your packets. <br />Also add to the agenda: <br />2. 2002-0701; 519 Edgewater Drive; Laurel & Bill Cochrain; <br />Replace aluminum storm door. <br />Mr. Cochrain called me Friday. I recommend approval, as the <br />existing storm door is totally unhistoric, and any replacement <br />would probably be equally or more historic in character than the <br />existing. <br />Staff suggests that it is also in order to shower the Cochrain family with <br />congratulations and praise for restoring a significant amount of unique and <br />lovely original detail to the eaves of the house and to a porch that had been <br />completely aluminum covered for many years. Kil Architecture and Van <br />Overberghe Builders have done excellent work for them, and it probably <br />was not cheap. A drawing of the restoration plan, and photos of the house <br />are attached. <br />
