CALL TO ORDER <br />JOHN OXIAN: Calls the meeting to order at 7:35. <br />II. PUBLIC HEARING <br />A. CERTIFICATES OF APPROPRIATENESS <br />1. 2002-1030-b; 1209 East Wayne Street North; Re -side two <br />dormers; replace metal porch awning with shingle awning. <br />Motion was made and seconded to allow the director to dispense with the reading of the <br />History and Significance portion of the Staff Reports for Certificates of Appropriateness. <br />KAREN HAMMOND-NASH: The owners are seeking to do three things, one of which I <br />have already staff approved, and two of which are before the Commission. They are as <br />follows: <br />1. They are seeking to replace the roof in kind, using the same style of shingles that <br />were previously installed. This one has already been staff approved. <br />2. Remove existing wooden siding from two dormers, one in the front of the garage <br />roof, facing the street, and one in the back of the garage roof, facing the back, and <br />re -side those dormers with vinyl siding. <br />3. They seek to replace a metal front porch awning with an actual porch roof, <br />shingled and equipped with a gutter to match the roof on the house and garage. <br />They would also replace the light metal post supporting the outside corner of the <br />awning with a wooden post instead. <br />
