HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
Residence: 1222 East Wayne South
South Bend, IN 46615
Owners: David and Carol Graham since 1995
Proposal: New addition (first floor family room and breakfast nook/ second floor 2 bed rooms)
Dimensions: 14x 28 feet (may add 2 feet out on either side of gliding French doors in order to enlarge the
family room)
Windows: Anderson Perma-Shield Casement Model with Terratone exterior. The windows will be
complete with screens and divided light grilles.
Door: Anderson Gliding French Door with a screen and divided light grilles. It will also
incorporate an extra security lock for added protection.
Exterior: The addition will be made from Stucco and wood trim to match the existing residence. The
Stucco will match the existing material by texture and color. The Tudor style design on the
front of the house will be carried over to the left side of the addition which is seen from the
street.
Roof: A gable style roof will be used on the new addition with the same pitch. The roof to the
existing residence and the addition will be shingled to match. The soffits, and fascia will
match as well.
Landscape: The maple tree in the backyard will be removed due to safety issues. It has been looked at
by two landscape groups who have stated that it was filled with carpenter ants. The tree will
be replaced upon the completion of the addition. Additional landscape features will be
included (i.e. patio, bushes, etc.) by the Foegley Landscape Company.
If you have further questions regarding this information, please give me a call (219) 234-0317.
Thank you for your time and consideration regarding this matter.
Sincerely,
/
David and Carol Graham
Ci
