ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING <br />THE JUNIOR LEAGUE HOUSE AND LAWN <br />A HISTORIC LANDMARK <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br />The house and property commonly known as the Junior League House, and located at <br />130 Park Land, South Bend, Indiana, has been important to the community life of South Bend <br />for many years. Memorial Hospital, as the owner of the property, recognizing its historic sig- <br />nificance and architectural beauty, has granted its use in perpetuity to the Junior League, and <br />further recommended that it be publicly recognized as a Local Landmark. The Historic Preser- <br />vation Commission of South Bend and Saint Joseph County, having reviewed the matter, re- <br />ports to the City that the property in question meets the City Ordinance Criteria for a local his- <br />toric landmark, and recommends to the City that Historic Landmark designation be granted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. That the above described real property, consisting of house, attached ga- <br />rage, and landscaped lawn, [insert legal description] commonly called the Junior League House, <br />is hereby designated and established as an Historic Landmark under Ordinance 5565-73, as <br />amended. <br />Section 2. That if the house and garage are, in the future, moved to another location, <br />they shall remain an Historic Landmark, at their new location. <br />Section 3. That if the house and garage are, in the future, moved to another location, <br />the lawn shall remain an Historic Landmark, and shall be called the Junior League Lawn. <br />Section 4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its <br />passage by the Common Council, approval by the Mayor, and legal publication. <br />Member of the Common Council <br />
