The environmental specifications have been already completed. The <br />$450,000 of reprogrammed CDBG funds necessary for the demolition have received a public <br />comment period and have been approved by the Common Council. The use of funds is contingent <br />upon HUD's approval. Moreover, the City's Legal Department is in the process of drafting a <br />resolution requesting a transfer of the building from the County to the City. The transfer will be <br />finalized once we have received demolition approval from the Historic Preservation Commission. <br />The Oliver School building is slated for demolition in October 2002. Please refer to the attached <br />schedule for more information on current and future project tasks. <br />I request that you call a special meeting of the Historic Preservation Board the week of August <br />5 to expedite the process.
