in the late nineteenth century, and the importance which German Township citizens attached to <br />it, since the architecture of this two room schoolhouse was so fine. <br />The 1950 addition, while not so rich in historic significance or educational value (except <br />to architectural students) as the main building, is of substantial cultural significance. <br />Both the original building, and the addition, are very well kept, having been used and <br />inhabited continuously since their construction, and are well suited for preservation. <br />Thus, the original building and its site has historic and cultural significance, has <br />educational value, and is suited for preservation. The addition has cultural significance, and is <br />suited for preservation. Furthermore, there is great support in the neighborhood for the historic <br />designation of this structure and its site. For the reasons set out in the Ordinance, the Old <br />German Township School merits the landmark status that its neighbors request for it. <br />
