Washington. I do most of my own work <br />on the house; if this goes through will it in anyway affect this? <br />JOHN OXIAN: No. <br />PAUL BOLGER: So I can continue to do my own maintenance work? <br />JOHN OXIAN: You can do anything you want on the inside of the house, on the <br />outside if you are going to change something. <br />PAUL BOLGER: I am not going to do any structural changes. <br />JOHN OXIAN: For example, if you are going to re -roof your house you will need a <br />Certificate of Appropriateness. Anything that would affect you would be on the exterior <br />not the interior. In addition, if you wanted to paint your house you do not have to come <br />to the Commission as well as for minor repair work. <br />CHERYL GREENE: If you are going for a building permit the Building Commissioner <br />can not issue a permit until you have been through the Commission. <br />PAUL BOLGER: The Building Department would contact you? <br />JOHN OXIAN: The owner should contact the Commission. <br />JOANN SPORLEDER: Replacing shingles that blow off in a windstorm would not <br />require a permit. <br />JOHN OXIAN: A landmark starts the day it passes the council and anything done <br />previously becomes part of that landmark. <br />ANNA BOLGER: If we wanted to enclose the porch, we could not do it. <br />JOHN OXIAN: I won't say that it wouldn't be approved, however, it would need <br />review and approval by the Commission <br />PAUL BOLGER: I guess that covers it, thank you. <br />RICHARD MORRISON: I move that we send proposed local landmark 1003 East <br />Washington to the Common Council with a favorable recommendation. <br />RICHARD HELMUS: I second the motion. <br />.I <br />
