We are aware that your service did come out and trim trees. and that the neighbor, Ms. Brown informed you of the landmark status of the walnut tree. I am writing to you today to ensure that you are kept aware of the situation and do not get caught in the middle. Mr. Philippis has been asked to submit an application requesting trimming of this tree. If he submits in time the matter will be before the Commission on May 21, 2001. Mr. Philippis does not have the authority to trim the aforementioned tree unless said trimming is approved by the Commission. If Mr. Philippis does not cooperate with the Commission and chooses to trim the tree with out approval the matter will be turned over to the City Legal Department for further actions. I will keep you informed of any progress in regards to this mat- ter so that you do not become an unwitting participant in this situation. If you have any questions please con- tact me at 235-9798.
