The Historic Preservation Commission sent a notice to you and your property manager, Frank Pocza, on September 19, 2000, regarding the Commission's decision to deny the wrongfully installed front porch col- umns, located at 129 Franklin, South Bend, Indiana. I have enclosed another copy of this letter, which clearly states that the aforementioned columns were found to be inappropriate and denied by the. Commission. It also notes that the Commission discussed all aspects of this issue, leading it to extend the normal response time from one month to three months. The extension would allow more then adequate time to replace the inappro- priate columns with more suitable, staff approved columns, which are readily available at most home improve- ment stores for a reasonable cost. Unfortunately, the prescribed three months have come and gone with no attempt to replace the columns and no response from you or Mr. Pocza. The Commission has no alternative but to turn the matter over to the City Legal Department. We had hoped to resolve this situation with out involving the Commission Attorney, however, since nothing has been done and no response has been given we have no alternative but to turn the matter over.
