The Commission wants to make certain that none of the architectural detail of this bridge is covered over, lost,
altered, removed or harmed during this project and that any needed repairs or replacements are done in such a
fashion as to be indistinguishable from the original. The Commission Staff as well as the President have many
questions regarding this project that can only be answered by meeting with a representative and viewing com-
pleted drawings and renderings of what the bridge currently looks like and what it will look like upon comple-
tion. At this time the *staff feels that until more information is available a recommendation for this project can
not be issued.
Since this bridge is a landmark and requires review by the HPC I have enclosed an application for the needed
Certificate of Appropriateness.. You will need to return it along with project documentation and renderings to
the HPC office by the last Friday of the month to be on the agenda for the following months meeting. For a
list of deadlines and meeting dates contact HPC Staff at 219 - 235 -9798 or email at historic @michiana.org.
S' rely, su
on a aun rs, Director HPC
CC: John Oxian, President HPC
Jeremy Risen, HLFI
File
